Terms

The Scottish Tea Cosy Festival is held in Wigtown, Dumfries & Galloway, and is open to entrants from anywhere in the world. By using this website, submitting a tea cosy, placing a bid, or taking part in any festival activity, you agree to the following terms.

Festival Participation

The festival takes place on the Saturday before National Tea Cosy Day. All entries must follow the published Festival Rules. By submitting a tea cosy, you confirm that it meets the entry requirements, category guidelines, and condition standards set out in the Rules.

Submission and Ownership

All tea cosies submitted to the festival will be included in the judged show and entered into the charity auction. By sending a cosy, you agree that it will be auctioned at the end of the festival. UK entrants may request their cosy to be returned by paying the return fee stated in the Rules. International entries cannot be returned.

No Cash Prizes

The festival does not offer cash prizes. All prizes are donated by sponsors or provided by the festival. Prize details will be listed on the website once confirmed.

Use of Images

By entering a tea cosy, you grant permission for the festival to photograph it and use the images on the website, in the gallery, in promotional materials, in newsletters, and in press coverage. Images may also be used to support the charity auction.

Judging and Public Vote

Judging is carried out by three appointed judges. Their decisions are final. Visitors to the festival may take part in the Public Best in Show vote. The judging criteria are listed in the Festival Rules.

Craft Fair Participation

Stallholders at the craft fair agree to follow the festival’s guidelines. A donation to the charity is requested for each stall. A table, chair, and a cup of tea will be provided.

Website Use

You may browse the gallery, read festival information, download the application form, and place bids by email. You agree not to misuse the website or attempt to disrupt its operation. All content is provided for general information about the festival.

Bidding and Auction

Email bids are expressions of interest. Winning bids will be confirmed at the end of the auction. All sales are final. Funds raised will go to the charity chosen by the festival.

Newsletter

By signing up to the newsletter, you agree to receive festival updates, news, and tea cosy stories. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Changes to the Festival

The festival may update dates, procedures, or activities if required. Any changes will be announced on the website and through the newsletter.
