You don’t need to be Scottish to join in. The festival simply takes place in Wigtown, in Dumfries & Galloway, but it is open to everyone. You can take part from anywhere in the world, whether you knit, crochet, sew, weave or felt. The Scottish Tea Cosy Festival is a celebration of creativity, and there are several ways to be involved.

Send a Tea Cosy

You don’t need to attend the festival in person. You can simply make a tea cosy and post it to us. Every tea cosy that arrives will be displayed in the festival gallery and included in the judged show. At the end of the festival, all tea cosies will be auctioned to raise money for charity.

Sign Up to the Newsletter

If you want to follow the festival without sending a cosy, you can join the newsletter. We share updates, behind‑the‑scenes news, and tea cosy stories throughout the year. It’s the easiest way to stay connected and see what’s happening.

Browse the Gallery

During the festival, the gallery will show every tea cosy that has been entered. If you see one you love, you can email us to place a bid. You don’t need to be at the festival to take part in the auction.
